CHANDIGARH, Dec 24: Anand Chibber trounced Gurinder Singh to enter the snooker second round of Haryana State Billiards and Snooker Championship being held simultaneously at the Cannon Ball, Sector 37 and YMCA Hall, Sector 11 today. Anand won 66-51, 57-55. 52-59, 73-37.
Both players chased each other in the first three frames and it was a neck to neck fight but Anand being more consistent kept his cool at the crucial moments and won the first two and lost the third frame. In the fourth frame it was Anand all the way as he produced fine potting and did not let his opponent come close to him and comfortably won the frame and the match.
In other snooker matches, Raju Sian kept his winning steak by outclassing Ravi Baweja 47-33, 60-34, 63-33 and Sunny Bhalla got the better of Raghav Baweja 37-28, 57-34, 44-52, 49-20.
In the junior event Amit Swamy beat Tarun Malik 25-50, 53-29, 64-41, 63-35 and Kapil Chadha defeated Aman Bhasin 79-9, 44-33, 58-28. However, Amit lost to Rakesh Gupta in the open billiards 301-375.
Chhotu Ram Sports
The first Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram Sports will be held at the Parade Ground, Sector 5, Panchula tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, according to M S Malik, vice-president of the Wrestling Federation of India. The meet is being organised by Jat Sabha, Chandigarh. It will be an annual feature.
More than 200 entries have been received from different age groups. Competitions will be held in athletics, kabaddi, volleyball and tug of war.
TT team
Gaurav Bhatia of SD Public School, Sector 32 and Shruti Akku of Sacred Heart will lead the Chandigarh table tennis boys and girls teams respectively in the 60th Junior National and Inter-State table tennis championship to be held at Jalandhar from December 25 to 31.
The other members of the team are:
Boys: Amit Aggarwal (NPS-18), Rahul Sharma (SSH-40), Harpreet Singh (BVB-27), Sumit Grover (SN-22).

Triathlon camp
The following women triathletes and women triathletes will attend the India camp for the Asia Cup series and the Senior National Triathlon Championship to be held in Chennai from January 10 next year.

Men: Munish Sharma (DAV College), Rohit Sharma (DAV College), Ravgunn Singh (SD School-32), Vitul Sharma (SD School-32), Ashok Kumar (Technical delegate).
Rugby team
A 21-member team will represent Chandigarh in the second Senior National Rugby Championship being held at Rourkela (Orissa) from December 27 to 30, according to CRA general secretary Krishan Kumar.
