Anand exits

Third seed Chetan Anand crashed out to Ajay Jayram in the pre-quarter finals of the Pramod Mahajan Senior National Ranking tournament 13-21, 24-26 in a major upset today, and top seed Anup Sridhar nearly shared the same fate before making his way into the last eight. Sridhar was up against Maharashtra8217;s Sagar Chopda, and he had a few anxious moments before closing out a hard-fought 21-16, 19-21, 21-15 victory. Women8217;s second seed Trupti Murgunde reached the quarter finals with a 21-13, 21-4 win over Neha Pandit. In another men8217;s match, P Kashyap defeated Abhinn Shyam Gupta 23-21, 21-16.
