Viswanathan Anand maintained the sole lead in the Morelia-Linares Super Grandmasters chess tournament at the end of a drawn round 12, with two more rounds to go. Anand, whose only loss in the tournament so far had been to Lev Aronian, split the point with him this time, after just 23 moves in a short game.
Anand has 7.5 points and is half a point ahead of Magnus Carlsen on 7.
Out of his remaining two games, Anand has one in white against Leko, who has been having a miserable tournament. In all likelihood, one point now should be enough for Anand to grab the title.
