After an embarrassing 4-1 loss to Australia in the 2025-26 Ashes series Down Under, England will aim to hit the reset button, albeit in a different format, when they take on Sri Lanka in the first of a three-match ODI series at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday.
Under Harry Brook’s captaincy, England are touring Sri Lanka for a white-ball series consisting of three One-Day Internationals and three T20Is. This will be the first ODI series in 2026 for both sides. Both sides were clean-swept in their most recent ODI series. Sri Lanka fell 3-0 to Pakistan in November, while England suffered a similar 3-0 defeat to New Zealand last October.
England have already announced their playing XI for the first match, with the full-strength white-ball side returning in action.
