Amnesty International on Monday protested against the detention of activist Binayak Sen, General Secretary, Chhattisgarh People8217;s Union of Civil Liberties.

Sen was arrested by the Chhattisgarh police on May 14 under Chhattisgarh Special Public Security Act, 2005 and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967. He was suspected of having links with a Maoist functionary, Narayan Sanyal. A team led by Mukul Sharma, Director, Amnesty International, visited Dhamtari district to investigate any signs that led to his arrest.
