CHANDIGARH, March 25: The foursome led by Chandigarh professional Amandeep Johl emerged winner in the Porcall Pro-Am tournament, a prelude to the Rs 8 lakh Mercedes Benz Open Golf Championship at the par-72, 7,202-yard Chandigarh Golf Course here today.

Johl8217;s team consisted of Rohit Dagar, SP Singh and Brig Bhagwant Singh tallied plus two points. The win gave Johl a cash award of Rs 10,000 while his amateur colleagues got silver salvers.

Seasoned campaigner Basad Ali8217;s quartet finished runners-up. Madhu Brar, Birg Santokh Singh and Gp Capt PR Singh were the members of Basad Ali8217;s contingent. Basad won Rs 7,500.

Professional Vijay Kumar of Lucknow returned the best card of the day, three-under par 69 and got Rs 10,000. With this victory, Vijay has served a stern warning to his opponents in the Chandigarh Open Golf Championship.
