Faced with high Air Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices, air-carriers are mulling over whether “to import ATF rather than buy domestically if it brings down our costs,” Kingfisher Airlines chairman Vijay Mallya said at a meeting here on Saturday.

This would, however, require logistical issues to be resolved before ATF can be actually imported, Mallya added. The cost-structure and regulatory issues, if any, remains to be worked out, said Jet executive director Saroj Datta.

The meeting was also attended by Jet chairman Naresh Goyal, SpiceJet MD Siddhant Sharma, Air India director-commercial Anita Khurana, GoAir CMD Jeh Wadia.
