The All India Football Federation has issued a showcause notice to East Bengal coach Subhas Bhowmick for allegedly threatening to withdraw the team and making derogatory comments about the federation, match officials and local organisers before and after the inaugural NFL tie on January 12.

The letter, signed by AIFF secretary Alberto Colaco yesterday, reached the office of the federation8217;s affiliate unit the Indian Football Federation today.

Bhowmick has been asked to reply to the letter within 15 days.
