NEW DELHI, Oct 8: Centuries by Rajinder Ahir (124 not out, for Delhi Telecom) and Mukesh Sehgal (106, for Bank of India) were the highlights of the inaugural day’s matches in the DDCA league at Kotla today.

Brief Scores: Daryaganj Gymkhana: 167 for 9 (Mukesh 48, Lokesh Sharma 41, Mohinder Kakkar 3 for 30) Darling: 168 for 5 (Mohinder Kakkar 49, Sushil Dhar 41, Sarvesh 27, manoj Dutt 23 not out, Maninder Singh Maini 3 for 22).

Delhi Telecom: 225 for 4 (Rajinder Ahir 124 not out, V K Mishra 44, Sushil Sharma 25). Bank of India: 227 for 7 (Mukesh Sehgal 106, R Srikanth 57, Suresh Ahuja 25, Sushil Sharma 3 for 40, Raja Ram 2 for 35).

Nehru Hockey: Rosary High School (Fatehgarj, Vadodra) take on Govt Girls Sr Sec School (Chandigarh) in the opening match of the Nehru hockey tournament for girls. The tournament carries the total prize money of Rs 1 lakh. In addition, a prize money of Rs 10,000 will be awarded to the most success team or individual players in penalty conversions.
