CHANDIGARH, Oct 12: Defending champion Accountant General, Karnataka got the better of AG West Bengal 25-15, 25-11, 25-20, in their second league encounter of the Audit and Accounts All India Inter-Zonal volleyball tournament at the Sector 7 Sports Complex, here today. Karnataka will play AG Himachal Pradesh in their next match, tomorrow. Both the teams have good record in their league encounters so far.

Karnataka8217;s skipper Jahagirdar and Gopal Krishan combined well and with excellent blocks foiled the opponents attack to gain the upper hand in the contest today. Manju and G Pradeep were good in attack and were also effective in defence.

In another match Orissa prevailed over spirited AG Kerala 25-20, 27-25, 25-28. For Orissa Parveen and Ashutosh Verma scored most of the points while BN Dass was good at the net.

AG Himachal Pradesh also scored second consecutive victory in the meet by scoring 25-19, 25-18, 25-18 win over AG Madhya Pradesh.

AG Uttar Pradesh also scored 25-17, 25-22, 25-19 win over AG Maharashtra. The final of the meet will be played on October 14.
