Accelerated Skills Development:

President Thabo Mbeki started the programme in January 2006 to try and bridge the huge loss that apartheid inflicted by denying vast sections of the population education, and consequently skills. The government works with the corporate sector and civil society to impart skills to deprived youngsters.
