In Dr Mashelkar8217;s words it was a rare and auspicious occasion that he was able to attend the felicitation programme of Tatyasaheb Godse on the occasion of his 75th birthday.

Indeed it was a Amrutyog8217; as Dr Mashelkar described, because several eminent personalities from the field of music, literature, and social service were present on the occasion.

Those present for the felicitation programme included Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, eminent singer and music director Sudhir Phadke. Classical singer Jyotsna Bhole who enthralled the audience with a song 8220;Kshan Ala Bhagyacha8221; with she being in the eighties. Tabla maestro Ustad Allarkhan, former vice-chancellor of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar University Shivajirao Bhosale, chief editor of Sakal papers Vijay Kuvalekar were also present on the occasion.

Pandit Bhimsen Joshi observed that he was 78 years old now but would like to attend Godse8217;s hundredth birthday and sing one of his favourite songs, 8220;Indrayani Kathi.8221; Incidentally Dr Mashelkar8217;s wife was also felicitated on her birthday on the same day, Monday.
