After playing many roles, Mansi Joshi Roy now takes the director8217;s seat
After actor Mansi Joshi Roy turned producer, she insisted on adding 8216;creative8217; as suffix to her new role. 8220;I always believe that I8217;m a creative producer and not just a producer. I like designing my complete show, which I8217;m doing with Cinemascope,8221; says Joshi.
Though direction is very fulfilling, Joshi Roy doesn8217;t want to take more assignments right now. After setting the template of Cinemascope and directing its initial episodes, her focus will shift to acting 8212; which remains her abiding passion. Production will also take up her time. She has launched a production house, called Magic Works, with husband Rohit Roy. Both of them are involved in the creative process while administration remains Joshi Roy8217;s domain.
However the actor, who won hearts as Sudha in Saaya, has no plans of appearing on the small screen. 8220;Not until I get something exciting,8221; she says. Next summer, she will appear on the big screen in Alibaug. The year 2009 will also see the release of Pankh, which is co-produced by the Roys. 8220;We are very happy to have made a non-mainstream film like Pankh,8221; she says.
After mapping a successful journey in the world of entertainment, the actor 8212; who has her roots in theatre 8212; still longs to go back to stage. 8220;I wish to do some plays sometime soon,8221; says the daughter of Arvind Joshi, an eminent Gujarati theatre personality.
