
Rajasthan has forwarded its recommendation to the central government to set up an IIT in Kota, state education minister Kali Charan Saraf said in Kota.
Vasudev Devnani, minister of state for technical education said on Wednesday that the recommendation was based on the report of an expert committee constituted by the state government which includes a representative of the HRD ministry.
Unveiling a statue of Swami Vivekanand at Kota Technical College on Wednesday Saraf said permission for starting 30 new engineering colleges in the state has already been granted and applications from 6 others was under consideration.
