With just three days to go for their final encounter against a star-studded Mumbai, Bengal coach Paras Mhambrey is confident his side will do well against the domestic powerhouse here at the Wankhede Stadium.
8220;It will be a tough game, but we are confident of our abilities. It will be a challenge to beat them,8221; said the former Mumbai skipper.
After a long time Mumbai will have Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar and Ramesh Powar playing in the domestic competition.
Under Mhambrey8217;s coaching, the Bengal side has entered the Ranji Trophy final on successive years and with Sourav Ganguly available to play, the visitors will be hoping to create the big upset of the domestic season.
8220;I think both teams will have an equal amount of fear and pressure. So far, we have done well in every department of the game and like any other match, we will go with the same approach of trying to win,8221; he said.
Mhambrey, who has played with most of the Mumbai senior players, praised the youngsters8217; efforts. 8220;Honestly, I haven8217;t seen much of them. But the way they have reached the final with these youngsters, shows it8217;s a good sign for Mumbai cricket,8221; he said.
The former India player further added: 8220;It8217;s very important for any team that youngsters take up responsibilities. Every time one can8217;t expect seniors to perform. Also, these players need to prove themselves by giving consistent performances.8221;
For Mhambrey, clinching the title at the Wankhede would be a special delight, but for now he just wants to be focused on the match. 8220;We have played well throughout the season and here also we want to play positive cricket,8221; he said.
