2 PAU scientists given awards

Two PAU food scientists, Dr KS Sandhu, Director, Punjab Horticultural Post-Harvest Technology Centre PHPTC, and Dr Usha Bajwa of the Department of Food Science and Technology have been given KU Patel Memorial Award-2007.

The award is given for 8216;overall best paper8217; published in the journal, Indian Food Packer. The award 8212; carrying a prize money of Rs 5,000 and a citation 8212; was presented to the scientists by Dr Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Union Minister of State for Agriculture at the 64th annual conference of All India Food Processors Association AIFPA held at New Delhi.

The paper provides a lot of useful information to the users of edible and synthetic packaging films for food processing industries.
