2 PAU scientists given awards

Two PAU food scientists, Dr KS Sandhu, Director, Punjab Horticultural Post-Harvest Technology Centre (PHPTC), and Dr Usha Bajwa of the Department of Food Science and Technology have been given KU Patel Memorial Award-2007.

The award is given for ‘overall best paper’ published in the journal, Indian Food Packer. The award — carrying a prize money of Rs 5,000 and a citation — was presented to the scientists by Dr Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Union Minister of State for Agriculture at the 64th annual conference of All India Food Processors Association (AIFPA) held at New Delhi.

The paper provides a lot of useful information to the users of edible and synthetic packaging films for food processing industries.
