Mrunal Thakur, who has impressed audiences and critics alike with her performances in movies such as Love Sonia, Jersey and Sita Ramam, recently left her fans worried as she dropped a teary-eyed selfie on her social media with a cryptic note. While the actor is known for being candid and upfront in her interviews, it was the first time she expressed her emotional side on a public platform.

Laying bare ‘vulnerable’ side, the actor penned a moving note stressing that it is ‘okay to not be okay’.

“Yesterday was tough. But today I’m stronger, wiser, and happy! Everybody has pages in their stories they don’t read out loud, but I’m choosing to read mine out loud — because maybe someone out needs to learn the lesson, I learnt. Taking one day at a time!” read the post, which she concluded with “its ok to be vulnerable and naive.”

The post was followed by a video in which Mrunal — who began her acting career with the 2012 TV show Mujhse Kuchh Kehti…Yeh Khamoshiyaan — assured her fans that she is doing fine, further sharing that the crying picture was clicked when she felt “extremely low”. In the video, she said, “That picture was taken at the time when I felt I was extremely low and couldn’t make it. But today, I am happy, and I made it, woohoo.”

According to Dr Jyoti Kapoor, Founder-Director and Senior Psychiatrist, Manasthali, “Being open and honest about your struggles can help you break down the barriers that may be preventing you from seeking help or accessing resources.” Further acknowledging that it is easier said than done, she added: “It can be a challenging, and sometimes difficult, process, but it is also an incredibly empowering one that can lead to greater happiness, fulfillment, and success in all areas of your life.”

The expert suggested taking a break, connecting with others, practicing self-care, and getting physical activity as some of the ways to cope when you are struggling.
