Embrace the power of lights

Lanterns are a popular decor trend for Eid. They not only create a beautiful atmosphere but also come in various shapes and sizes, suitable for any home. Sood recommended designing your own Eid lanterns if you’re on a budget. “Decorating your home with chic lights adds a sophisticated ambience and can make smaller spaces appear larger,” she said.

Redecorate your living room

Bring nature indoors by decorating your home with fresh floral arrangements. Choose flowers in vibrant colours that match your Eid decor theme. Sood suggested placing them in vases or floating them in urlis with floating candles to create beautiful display areas.

You can also update your living room or sitting area by adding colourful cushions and cosy throws. “Opt for fabrics with intricate designs or embroidery that reflect the festive spirit. Mix and match patterns and textures to create an inviting and comfortable space for your guests,” she added.

Add personalised place cards to your table setting

Sood also suggested making personalised place cards or small party favours for a memorable touch. You can use elegant dinnerware, vibrant tablecloths, and decorative centrepieces to enhance your dining experience.

Don’t forget aromatherapy

Uplift the ambience of your home by using scented candles or essential oil diffusers. Sood recommended choosing fragrances like rose, jasmine, or sandalwood, which create a sense of serenity and joy.

Create a sweets display

No Eid celebration is complete without delicious sweets. You can create an attractive display of traditional desserts, according to Sood. “Arrange them on decorative trays or tiered stands and place them as a centrepiece in your living room or dining area.”
