Our fathers have always stood strong, like a wall, shielding us from the harsh realities of the world. It is highly probable that the marks of our tears have forever imprinted upon the fabric of their shirts, be it the result of our mothers’ scolding or the torment inflicted by our bosses. Throughout the ebb and flow of our lives, there has not been a moment when that dependable shoulder was not readily available to offer solace and support.

With Father’s Day being celebrated with great fervour today, it is time for us to express our heartfelt gratitude towards our father figures, who undoubtedly serve as our heroes. They have consistently made us feel cherished and valued throughout our lives, and it is only fitting that we reciprocate their love and care, even if just for a day. Here are a few meaningful ways to pamper them and demonstrate our deep affection on this special occasion of Father’s Day.

Give him the cheesy ‘best dad ever’ memorabilia

We’ll tell you a secret — Dads love those cheesy “best father ever” mugs and t-shirts. Don’t let him buy you into thinking he hates it. He doesn’t. We know. Thank us later!

Get all your family members together and organise a dad joke tournament

There’s no better day for anyone to flex their dad jokes than Father’s Day. You can enrol all your family members in this plan and organise a dad joke tournament together and ask your dad to crown the winner. What do they get though, you ask? Bragging rights (of course) and a lifetime membership to being dad’s favourite.

Sneak in a spa day in a busy week

Whoever said men couldn’t have spa days was lying. Your dad will love a good spa day, especially if he’s had an especially busy week.

Send him a cake if you live far

Even if you live away from your father, like a lot of the working population, there are still ways to make the day special for him. Don’t forget to give him a call and ask him how he’s doing. You can take it up a notch and send him a cake with a sweet card as well.

Go on a date with him

Take some time out for him on this day and take him out on a special date — just the two of you. Binge on his favourite food together or watch a movie with him. If your dad is the athletic kind, you can even go paintballing or ice skating together.
