He added that soaked curry leaves are also a great source of fibre, vitamins, and minerals. “They are known for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. They are also believed to promote hair growth and prevent premature greying of hair,” Chawla said.

Jain said that incorporating ash gourd and curry leaves into one’s diet is easy. “You can juice it and have it in the morning, which helps to cleanse the gut and kick-start digestion. Meanwhile, curry leaves can be added to your chaas or sabzi, or you can soak and chew them in the morning to reap their benefits,” she said.

Overall, experts mentioned that ash gourd and curry leaves are an excellent combination for those seeking a healthy and balanced diet. “While ash gourd is great for people with digestive issues due to its fibre content and cooling effect on the body, curry leaves provide a protective effect against oxidative damage to the organs in the long run,” Jain said.
