Reality TV star Payal Rohatgi is taking her talents beyond the screen and into the kitchen. Her latest venture, Healthy Hustle, is a cloud kitchen concept with a unique target audience: train passengers. This innovative move aims to transform the often-disappointing dining experience on Indian Railways by offering fresh, high-quality, home-style meals.

Rohatgi has built a notable career in the entertainment industry but is most well known for appearing on the reality TV show Bigg Boss, which is, incidentally, also where she met her now-husband and business partner Sangram Singh, who is an international wrestler.

Healthy Hustle began as a home kitchen experiment before transitioning to a cloud kitchen model. Inspired by the idea of “Ghar Jaisa Khana — Redefined,” which is also their tagline, the menu features everyday dishes that Payal herself cooks for her family. “I sell whatever Sangram [her husband] and I eat,” she explained in an interview with Slurrp, highlighting the use of fresh, local ingredients cooked in healthy fats like ghee and oil. Building Healthy Hustle has even broadened her culinary knowledge – the actress shared that she learned about the shorter shelf life of potatoes compared to onions!

Unlike large restaurants that prepare food in bulk, Healthy Hustle keeps things “fresh by making meals in small batches”, Rohatgi added. This approach ensures minimal waste and eliminates the need for long-term refrigeration.

Passengers on board trains departing from Andheri Station, Mumbai, can now experience the comfort of home-cooked meals through her venture. Orders can be placed conveniently using online platforms like Zomato or Swiggy, with delivery directly to passengers before their train arrives. “Train travellers can search the menu, order their dal chawal or dal khichdi,” explained Rohatgi in the interview with Slurrp, “and receive it within an hour before their train reaches the station.”

Payal Rohatgi’s initiave marks a significant shift for both the actress and the passenger dining experience on Indian Railways. With its focus on fresh, high-quality, home-cooked meals, Healthy Hustle promises to redefine the way we travel and eat on the go, Rohatgi said.
