It needs no stressing that it is vital to lead a healthy lifestyle by eating nutritious meals and working out regularly. It’s not just us, even Bollywood actors seem to live by this mantra and, as such, often motivate us with their impressive workout videos and meal plans. In a similar vein, Kriti Sanon recently shared a video of herself undertaking the ‘Treadmill Core Challenge’, and we are floored! In the video, the Mimi actor could be seen doing a perfect plank while balancing her weight on a core wheel on a moving treadmill and holding the position with a neutral back. That’s not all — in fact, she is all up for increasing the speed, too.
“And you thought treadmills were meant to walk or run on?! Let’s do this the tribe way! #Treadmill Core Challenge @karansawhney11 Next time we’ll up the speed!” she captioned the Instagram video.
What is a core wheel?
Speaking with indianexpress.com, Utsav Agrawal, an advanced personal trainer shared, “Core wheel, also known as an ab roller or ab wheel, is a fitness tool designed to strengthen and tone the core muscles”.

Agarwal shared the benefits of using core-wheel as:
Strengthening the core muscles: The core wheel primarily targets the abs, lower back, and obliques, which are essential for a strong and stable core.
Improved posture: A strong core helps to improve posture, which can help reduce the risk of back pain and injuries.
Increased balance and stability: Using a core wheel can help improve balance and stability by strengthening the core muscles that support the spine and pelvis.
Improved athletic performance: Strong core muscles are essential for many sports, including running, swimming, and weightlifting. Using a core wheel can also help improve athletic performance and reduce the risk of injuries.
Versatile and convenient: Core wheels are compact and easy to use, making them a convenient tool for home workouts or while traveling.
While the core wheel can provide many benefits, there are also some potential disadvantages to consider. Agarwal listed them out:
Risk of injury: Using the core wheel incorrectly or without proper form can lead to injuries, particularly in the lower back or wrists.
Not suitable for everyone: The core wheel may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions, such as back pain or herniated discs. It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise program.
Concluding, Agarwal said, “What Kriti is doing is pretty advance and you need a guidance of a coach/trainer before attempting it. In fact, you should have a professional present while doing it all times as there is a huge chance of injury”.
