‘Taken a month to create’: Tabu turns heads in an Angarakha-inspired dress ‘hand-tailored with over fifty metres of silk’ at Dune: Prophecy premiere

In an Instagram post, designers shared that the ensemble is a “one-of-a-kind couture masterpiece that reimagines a classic Angrakha as a unique silhouette that complements Tabu’s sculpted shoulders and tall frame.” It features the revival of Abu Sandeep’s ‘Crushed Silk’ collection, created by serendipity. The dress is made with pure khadi silk,  and has a crushed texture “so hypnotic that it flows like an endless sea of maximal fabulosity”.

The fabric’s texture is created by a secret signature technique discovered thirty-eight years ago. The garment was hand-tailored with over fifty metres of silk, which embodies a mix of Indian heritage and Western style, they added.

The Khufiya actor’s fans couldn’t keep calm and reacted with comments like “MOTHER IS HERE” to “Lemme just say imma OBSESSED,” appreciating her goth glam look, which was completed with neatly pulled back bun, grey smokey eye, and dangling stone earrings with an emerald center that accentuated her bare shoulders and a hint of decolletage. Nude lips and pale blush complemented her eye makeup.

Tabu will join the star-studded cast, which also includes co-stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and Travis Fimme. The show will be set 10,000 years after the first film and explore the story of how the Bene Gesserict sisterhood asserts its power in the face of the Butlerian Jihad’s aftermath.
