Akshata Murty, the First Lady of the United Kingdom and daughter of Indian billionaire Narayana Murthy, arrived in India with her husband and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, for the G20 Summit in New Delhi.
Known for her elegant and sophisticated style, what caught everyone’s attention was Akshata’s note-worthy statement ensemble, which featured a fusion mix of Indian and Western fashion sensibilities.
Akshata dressed up in a fusion outfit and channelled her Indian roots with a traditional floor-length maxi skirt complemented with a crisp white shirt.
Her long billowy skirt was adorned with multi-coloured intricate patterns and featured a cinched waist and a flowy silhouette. On the other hand, her white button-down shirt with folded sleeves added to the charm of her outfit. The semi-traditional approach to her official visit surely grabbed eyeballs.
She ditched other accessories and opted for statement heels, letting her Indo-Western creation do all the talking. Her straight fuss-free hairdo with minimal makeup completed her look.
Meanwhile, the UK PM sported a formal three-piece suit, featuring a white shirt, black blazer and matching tailored pants, teamed with formal shoes. He accessorised the look with a mustard yellow tie to break the monotone. His clean-shaven face and sleek hairdo made him look more suave!
The couple were received by Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey as they landed in India ahead of the Summit. They also received a traditional welcome at the airport as both were greeted by a traditional Bihu dance performed by Assamese folk dancers.
Previously, Akshata attended a special meeting at Parliament Hill School, where she looked stunning in a turtleneck midi dress. The abstract patterned number featured a waist-belt, a small slit and a body-hugging silhouette. She teamed it with small golden hoop earrings, let her hair loose in their natural texture and opted for subtle makeup, giving a chic look!
The G20 Summit is being held in New Delhi under India’s presidency on September 9 and 10.
