Ministry of External Affairs invites applications for internship programme, eligibility, deadline

An honorarium of Rs 10,000 per month will be paid to each intern to defray basic costs. Cost of one-time to and fro air travel subject to a ceiling of the prevailing economy class air fare between the state capital and Delhi, from the domicile state or from the college or university of the selected candidates will be provided, the MEA internship website said.

The interns would be responsible for their boarding and lodging in Delhi during the period of their internship.

After the application window closes on January 14, MEA will announce the names of shortlisted candidates and calls for interviews on January 19. Interviews will be conducted on February 3. The date for the announcement of selected candidates is February 9, 2024.

Each intern will be engaged for a minimum period of a month and a maximum period of six months. The MEA internship 2024 term 1 programme will begin on April 1, 2024. 

The MEA internship programmes are open to all Indian citizens with a minimum educational qualification of a graduate degree from a recognised university. Students in the final year of their graduation, where an internship is a mandatory part of their final year curriculum can also apply.
