Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Raveesh Kumar reiterated India’s position that Pakistan had invaded and illegally occupied parts of Jammu and Kashmir, and the current developments in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are purely its internal matter.
The MEA said that the Indian government has repeatedly called upon Pakistan to ask its forces to adhere to 2003 ceasefire understanding and maintain peace and tranquility along LoC and international border.
"The government of India deplores and condemns in the strongest terms such deliberate targeting of innocent civilians by Pakistan forces. This is against all established humanitarian norms and professional military conduct," the MEA said in its letter.
