The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) has vacancies for multiple positions for assistant professors in 23 departments of the Institute. The recruitment is conducted for various departments including department of applied mechanics, design, computer science, humanities and social sciences, management studies, mathematics, chemical and civil engineering among others.
Applications have to be submitted online at its official website. Candidates must have a separate copy of the application. The completed application along with the supporting documents should be submitted on or before December 31 till 5 pm.
The candidate must possess a PhD with first class or equivalent in the preceding degree with a specialization in the appropriate area or branch with a good academic record throughout. Candidates should have undergraduate and postgraduate education and must have carried out original and creative research.
Candidates with at least three years of industrial/research/teaching experience may be considered for the post. The experience gained before and while pursuing a PhD is excluded from consideration, read the notification.
Candidates have to upload a detailed academic profile which should include the following information for recruitment to IIT Delhi:
–Cover letter
–Applicant profile with personal details and academic qualifications
–Work Experience and detailed teaching and research plan
–Awards and recognition
–Details of journal/conference papers and list of books published
–List of referees
The posts carry allowances such as dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), transport allowance (TA) and telephone charges reimbursement as per Institute rules, which at present correspond to those admissible to Central Government employees stationed in Delhi, read the notification adding that the benefits of LTC, Children Education Allowance, and contribution towards New Pension Scheme (NPS) shall be permissible as per GoI rules.
Candidates are responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. Other than the assistant professor posts, the Institute has also opened seven positions for the English language instructor that is on contract. The eligibility for the position is PhD in English and allied disciplines, with a first division in MA in English or allied disciplines. The post will be on contract basis initially for one year and extendable upto three more years.
