Assam TGT PGT Recruitment 2024: The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam is hiring trained graduate teachers (TGT) and post-graduate teachers (PGT) to fill 9389 vacancies in various government schools of the state. The application to fill the vacancies started on October 21 at the official website — madhyamik.gov.in. From the total of 9389 vacancies, 8,004 positions are vacant for TGT candidates, while 1,385 positions will be filled by PGT aspirants.

To apply for TGT position, a candidate must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a recognised college or university with at least 50 per cent marks, along with a BEd degree.

For the PGT positions, an aspirant must possess a master’s degree with at least 50 per cent marks. It is advised to the candidates to read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the positions.

Assam TGT PGT Recruitment 2024: How to apply

Step 1: Log on to the official website of the — madhyamik.assam.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the ‘TET’ tab on the bottom right-hand side of the page

Step 3: Go to the link Click here for the online application for the recruitment of TGT/ PGT candidates. You will be redirected to a page where there will be a registration form link. Go to ‘Registration Form’.

Step 4: You can log in directly if you are a registered candidate. Read the details of the recruitment advertisement and apply.

Step 5: Take a print of the form when you finish for future reference.

The exam will be for 150 marks with paper I. The visually impaired candidates will get an additional 20 minutes. Candidates having 60 per cent marks in the exam will be considered to be passed and for the reserved category candidates, the marks required are 55 per cent.
