Vande Bharat Sleeper train: The Indo-Russian joint venture, Kinet Railway Solutions, is all set to unveil the design of its first AC coach next week. The Ministry of Railways has planned to introduce Vande Bharat Sleeper trains for long and medium distance journey. This new train will further transform the rail travel in the country.

According to the details available, Kinet Railway Solutions will unveil the First AC compartment design concept during the International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2025, which is scheduled to take place next week at Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam.

The company has been established as a joint venture between leading Russian rolling stock companies and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for the manufacturing and maintaining 120 Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains (or 1,920 coaches) for Indian Railways. The company is expected to unveil the first prototype in June 2026.

The national transporter awarded the contract to manufacture Vande Bharat Sleeper trains to three companies: BEML, Kinet Railway Solutions (a Joint Venture between Russian rolling stock major TMH and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited – RVNL) and a consortium of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited and Bharat Heavy Engineering Limited (BHEL).

Meanwhile, the railways has decided to launch two Vande Bharat Sleeper trains together. Last month, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw clarified that the launch will take place only after the second train is fully ready for regular service. This train has been manufactured by BEML using ICF technology.
““The second train is being manufactured and will possibly be ready by October 15, 2025. Both the trains will be launched together. The second train is important to maintain the continuity of regular services. That’s why we are waiting for a second rake. Once we get it, we will decide any route and start operations,” Vaishnaw said, reports PTI.
