Scrapping of AFSPA in J-K a must,says PDP

The People's Democratic Party demanded the scrapping of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act in Jammu and Kashmir.

The People’s Democratic Party demanded the scrapping of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act in Jammu and Kashmir,saying it was a must to restore the “dignity” of the common people.

At a public meeting in Ramban,150 km from Jammu,in connection with the party’s ongoing campaign against the AFSPA,former minister Peer Mohammad Hussain alleged that the Congress-National Conference coalition was helpless in protecting the lives of people.

He alleged that during the last six months cases of human rights violations by the security forces have increased manifold.
