It has been over a month since Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar hit the theatres, and there seems to be no stopping the actioner. The film is enjoying a historic run at the box office, breaking several records, first becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, and now inching closer to the Rs 800 crore mark domestically, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This success comes as a much-needed respite for its leading star, Ranveer Singh, who had been waiting for his moment at the box office for a few years now. It is also a milestone for director Aditya Dhar, whose dream project The Immortal Ashwatthama was shelved a few years ago due to budget constraints. With two back-to-back blockbusters, Uri The Surgical Strike and Dhurandhar, under his belt, Aditya now seems to have cemented his reputation as an ace director who can easily secure funding for his upcoming projects.

Celebrating the massive success of the film, the filmmaker, along with his wife Yami Gautam, visited the ancient Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, to seek blessings. It was a joyful moment not just for Aditya, but for Yami as well, who recently saw much critical acclaim with her courtroom drama Haq, which grossed Rs 19.86 crore domestically. The couple’s visit to Yami’s hometown offered a peaceful respite amid the celebrations.

The official Instagram page of Maa Baglamukhi Mandir shared a picture of the couple with a caption that read: “Ancient Temple of Mata Shri Baglamukhi Devi, Bankhandi, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Film director Aditya Dhar, as always, visited the temple to seek the blessings of the goddess along with his wife Yami Gautam. We pray that the eternal and auspicious blessings of Mata Baglamukhi continue to remain upon all her devotees.”

The celebrations are not limited to Aditya and Yami. Recently, Ranveer, along with his wife and actor Deepika Padukone, celebrated the film’s success in New York by visiting Chef Vikas Khanna’s restaurant, Bungalow. The gathering not only marked the film’s triumph but also featured a light-hearted moment as Deepika learned how to make modak.

Dhurandhar has been receiving widespread praise from industry insiders as well. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently took to Letterboxd to commend the film, even as he expressed disagreement with its politics. He called the filmmaking “top-notch” and lauded the “stubbornness” of Aditya Dhar, drawing comparisons between Dhurandhar and “Oscar-winning propaganda films about the USA” such as Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty, and House of Dynamite.

Dhurandhar 2 is slated to release in March.
