Omar approves annual plan for Jammu district

Chief Minister said the Planning Commission had sanctioned Rs 6600 crore annual plan for the state.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah approved the Annual Plan 2011 amounting to Rs 92.53 crore for the Jammu district on Tuesday.

Presiding over a meeting of the District Development Board here,he emphasised on judicious use of funds and timely completion of works.

Omar also stressed on regular monitoring of progress of development schemes saying public representatives and the officers should keep an eye on the pace of work.

The Chief Minister said the Planning Commission had sanctioned Rs 6600 crore annual plan for the state.

But,the additional amount of Rs 150 crore for Jammu and Rs 100 crore for Ladakh,identified by the Task Force set up the Central government,had not been provided,he said.

“However,we are spending this amount out of the current plan on schemes identified by the Task Force”,Omar said.

On electricity supply,Omar said the government was devising a special strategy to make a considerable headway on this front.

“We have to bear huge losses on the supply of power and 100 per cent metering is the answer to this problem to a great extent,” he said.

The district annual plan of Rs 92.53 crore for Jammu included Rs 3453.57 lakh as revenue component and Rs 5799.60 lakh as capital component.
