According to NCERT Director Dinesh Prasad Saklani, The NCERT faced challenges including that of pirated books and parents having to purchase books at inflated prices. Making these books available on Amazon will ensure that they are sold at the MRP, he said at an event held to sign the letter of engagement and launch the NCERT storefront on Amazon.
Speaking at the event, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that NCERT usually publishes 5 crore books every year, and this is set to increase to 15 crore books in the next academic session.
Textbooks that align with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2023 are being developed by NCERT. Revised textbooks in keeping with the NCFSE 2023 for classes 4, 5, 7, and 8 are likely to be released for the next academic session.
