NSG commandos to depose in-camera in 26/11 trial on Nov 18

Three top NSG commandos,who fought with 26/11 terrorists during the dastardly attacks,will depose in-camera before an anti-terror court here on November 18 through video conference.

In keeping with the directives of the Bombay High Court,the media would not be allowed to cover the deposition of the commandos,special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said.

The Centre had moved the high court against the order of the trial court which had issued summons to the commandos to depose about their combat with the terrorists.

The Centre had contended that the skills and techniques used by NSG in fight with terrorists could not be disclosed in the interest of national security.

In another development,Manpreet Vohra,joint secretary in ministry of external affairs,would appear as witness before the court on Tuesday to throw light on a dossier sent by Pakistan to India on Faheem Ansari,who is facing trial along with captured gunman Ajmal Kasab.

According to Nikam,Pakistan has admitted that the passport seized from Faheem was genuine and issued by the authorities there,although it was procured on the strength of fake documents.

In this regard,Pakistan has sent a dossier to India on which the prosecution wants to examine Vohra.
