In a press statement, IndiGo said that the flight was diverted to Nagpur due to a medical emergency on board. (Representative/ Express file photo by Nirmal Harindran) A 62-year-old man passed away after experiencing severe bleeding onboard a Mumbai-Ranchi flight Monday, IndiGo said in a statement.
According to the KIMS-Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur, where the man was taken after experiencing medical difficulties, he was suffering from CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) and tuberculosis, had bled severely in the aircraft, and was brought dead to the hospital, news agency ANI reported.

The statement from IndiGo said: “IndiGo flight 6E 5093, operating from Mumbai to Ranchi was diverted to Nagpur due to a medical emergency on board. The passenger was offloaded and was rushed to the hospital for further medical assistance. Unfortunately, the passenger did not survive. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
