Indian Railways to manufacture Amrit Bharat 3.0 trains for all passenger segments

Launched in 2023, the Amrit Bharat trains are meant to provide affordable service and high-quality travelling experience for people in the lower-income and lower-middle-income category.

Amrit Bharat Express: The Ministry of Railways has planned to manufacture Amrit Bharat 3.0 trainsets. The Amrit Bharat Express 3.0 will be designed based on the experience of Amrit Bharat 1.0 and Amrit Bharat 2.0 trains. Launched in 2023, the Amrit Bharat trains are meant to provide affordable service and high quality travelling experience for people in the lower-income and lower-middle-income category.

Amrit Bharat Train List

Presently, a total of 8 Amrit Bharat Express trains are running across the country. These are: Darbhanga-Anand Vihar Terminal, Malda Town-SMVT Bengaluru, Mumbai LTT-Saharsa, Rajendra Nagar Terminal-New Delhi, Darbhanga-Gomti Nagar, Malda Town-Gomti Nagar, Bapudham Motihari-Anand Vihar Terminal, and Sitamarhi-Delhi.

Now, the national transporter has geared up to manufacture Amrit Bharat 3.0 trains. This will be developed by Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF).

Amrit Bharat 3.0 Trains

Amrit Bharat 3.0 trainsets will feature a combination of Air-Conditioned (AC) and Non-Air-Conditioned (Non-AC) coaches.

“ICF is planning to develop Mixed Amrit Bharat 3.0 trains, offering a blend of AC and non-AC coaches for balanced comfort and affordability,” said U Subba Rao, General Manager of ICF, on Friday while addressing the gathering on the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day.

Amrit Bharat 2.0 Trains

The Amrit Bharat trains provide comprehensive services to the people at a very low cost. In Amrit Bharat 2.0 trains, the railways made 12 major improvements such as: semi-automatic couplers, modular toilets with new type of construction materials, strong pillar and partition, emergency talk back features, EP-assisted brake system, newly designed seats and berths, pantry car in new design, continuous lighting system like Vande Bharat, fire detection system, gangways, external emergency lights, and charging sockets along with mobile phone holders.

Amrit Bharat Express Trains

The non-AC Amrit Bharat trains comprise 11 General Class coaches, 8 Sleeper Class coaches, 1 Pantry car and 02 Second class-cum-Luggage-cum-Guard Van and Disabled-Friendly Compartment. The railways has provisioned for production of 100 Amrit Bharat trains.
