You have breached discipline: Mohindra tells Amarinder

In a letter to state Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh,MLA Brahm Mohindra on Monday accused him of breaching party discipline.

In a letter to state Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh,MLA Brahm Mohindra on Monday accused him of breaching party discipline.

After the defeat in Moga bypoll,Amarinder had issued showcause notices to Mohindra and a few other party MLAs for their “absence” during the campaigning.

In his letter, copies of which were circulated to the media,Mohindra said: “Being the president of the party, you could always call me and seek my explanation, but on the contrary, you issued a showcause notice. Further, without waiting for my reply, you issued a statement to the press and again a statement today.”

He added: “It is always the president of the party who maintains discipline in the party and ensures no party worker goes to press on internal matters. This code is applicable to all rank and file of the party. But by going to the press the way you have gone today, you yourself have breached the discipline.”

“…You have said that in a meeting I was given the duty for Moga elections. I categorically deny this as I was not invited to any such meeting nor I attended any such meeting. This allegation proves my point that there is a conspiracy, handiwork of the people very very close to you. It seems you are ill informed or wrongly informed. I request you to please update yourself in an honest and right perspective about the whole matter,” said Mohindra.

The letter also questioned Amarinder’s claim that he had visited Mohindra’s constituency in 2007 and 2012.
