Star Alliance questions AI on emergency landing case

A top Air India official said that the Alliance’s query is not at all serious in nature and does not impact its entry process.

Airline grouping Star Alliance has sought clarification from Air India on the emergency landing of a flight in Jaipur last week. Any concern raised by Star Alliance, the world’s largest airline with 28 member airlines, is crucial at this stage since Air India has initiated in December last year, the process of joining the grouping. The entry process was restarted after the alliance kept Air India’s membership on hold for over two years.

A top Air India official said that the Alliance’s query is not at all serious in nature and does not impact its entry process into the alliance. “It is just a routine report that they seek from any member airline about any newspaper coverage,” he said.
On January 5, an Air India flight from Guwahati to Delhi made a rough landing in Jaipur after it was diverted due to thick fog in Delhi.
