Patna blasts accused gets bail

A key accused in the Patna serial blasts case was granted bail on Thursday as the NIA failed to file chargesheet within stipulated 180 days.
Tabish Niyaz alias Arshad Ansari, an alleged logistic provider for other bombing accused, including Imtiaz who was arrested from the Patna railway station on October 27 last year when blasts took place.
It is suspected that he was supposed to help other accused sneak into Nepal.
NIA Special Judge and Additional Judicial Magistrate AK Singh went by standard CrPC provisions of granting bail to an accused if an investigating agency is not able to file chargesheet in a related court within 180 days under provisions of special acts, including one dealing with suspected terrorists. An NIA court granted regular bail to Tabish, a resident of Alaula village in East Champaran who was arrested on October 30 last year.
