Congress will be revived in Madhya Pradesh only when unity among its leaders and workers is reflected not just on dais but also at the ground level, one of the party’s young faces and Union Minister of State for Communications and IT Jyotiraditya Scindia has said.

“When unity among the Congress leaders and workers is reflected not just at the dais but also on the ground level, then only the party will revive in Madhya Pradesh,” Scindia told reporters last night after inaugurating the newly renovated GPO under the Project Arrow.

The young Congress leader said that after the party’s poor performance in the Vidhan Sabha elections, all senior leaders of the party from the state have realised the need for having unity at the grass root level to win more seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

When asked whether the party needed to hold ‘unity meets’ on the lines of Dabra conclave organised by his father Late Madhavrao Scindia,he said,”What was needed at the moment is display of unity and not just the conclave.”

He informed that senior party leaders including Digvijay Singh,Kamalnath,Jamuna Devi,Suresh Pachouri and he himself have decided to work “unitedly” in future for re-establishing the party in the state. There is a need to give party tickets to those workers who have slogged for the party and have capabilities to win the elections,Scindia added.
