Chancellor,V-C ‘gheraoed’ for 2 hours

Members of Independent Consolidation,a students’ body,allegedly gheraoed the Presidency University vice-chancellor and chancellor for two hours during a council meeting on Monday. They were demanding 50 per cent increase in seats at the postgraduate level and 100 per cent reservation for college students during admission at the postgraduate level. Presidency V-C Malabika Sarkar said the students had cordially placed their demands and not gheraoed them. She said the authorities were looking into the demands.
