Bhaderwah returns to normal

Twenty-two people,16 of them security force personnel,were injured in the recent violence in the town.

Bhaderwah town in Jammu and Kashmir,which observed a 3-day shutdown in the aftermath of communal clashes,returned to normal with the reopening of marketplaces and businesses establishments today.

“All shops and business establishments have reopened and traffic plied on roads after communal clashes and a three-day bandh,” officials said.

Bhaderwah in Doda district,the home town of Union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad,on Wednesday witnessed communal clashes triggered by objectionable remarks of a college teacher against a particular community.

Azad flew to Bhaderwah yesterday to take stock of the situation.

Doda,Bhaderwah,Gandoh and Kishtwar towns observed a shutdown and demonstrations were held yesterday at some places against the remarks of Professor.

Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a magisterial probe into the communal clashes.
