A Flair for Care

Two of Mumbai’s power-house designers,Shaina NC and Manish Malhotra,presented a star-studded fashion show in aid of The Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA). The sixth annual Caring with Style show was held at Hotel Intercontinental,The Lalit in Mumbai on June 19. The show,which was presented by the Association,along with Pidilite industries,saw many famous faces on the ramp as well as off it. Sashaying on the catwalk were actresses Vidya Malvade,Divya Dutta,Tisca Chopra,Riya Sen and Shweta Kawatra,as well as Ronit Roy,Sameer Dattani,Bikram Saluja and Vivek Oberoi — who is also the CPAA’s brand ambassador. Among the guests were Nita Ambani and Praful Patel,along with Kajol,who looked like she was wearing a creation by her friend Malhotra.

Since this was an event designed to support children suffering from cancer,we wonder if it was necessary for it to be publicised as also being a tribute to achievers from various fields,especially as the said achievers included Riya Sen and Sheetal Mafatlal,among others. Just the cancer support stance,would have been enough.
