The Punjab Subordinate Staff Selection Board (PSSSB) will get a case registered against 112 applicants who sought jobs by submitting fake certificates. Board chairperson Santa Singh Umaidpuri on Friday said a majority of the candidates were found to have submitted fake certificates of class X and XII of the Haryana School Education Board,Hisar.
PSSSB member Gurcharan Singh Grewal said the Board had advertised for the post of 188 forest guards in November 2011,for which 30,000 applications were received. We suspected some of certificates submitted by the candidates from border areas to be fake. Hence,we decided to obtain the certificates and found that 112 of these had fake certificates, Grewal said.
We will ask the Mohali police to register a case against the candidates and also catch those who had issued the certificates, Grewal added.
