German academician advises GTU to include lessons from Upnishada into MBA programme

He made these comments while speaking at an international seminar on "Designing a New MBA Program for GTU" held at GTU's campus at Chandkheda.

Knowledge Era Enterprising International (KEEI) president Charles M Savage from Germany on Monday advised the Gujarat Technological University (GTU) to bring lessons of Nachiketa and Mundaka Upnishada in its MBA programme. He made these comments while speaking at an international seminar on “Designing a New MBA Program for GTU” held at GTU’s campus at Chandkheda.

The German academcian philosophised that students should be free of greed and self-interest. He suggested that “instead of ‘Make in India’, India should implement ‘WISDOM in India’’.

Savage advised to make MBA program ‘SMARTWIZATION’, meaning, Smart, Wise and Digitization. “Bring digitization, sustainability and wisdom into active dialogue”, he suggested.

Dr Rajesh Khajuria, director of SMJV’s CKSV Institute of Management and Chairman, Global MBA Program at GTU focussed on the importance of improving communication skills and teaching business etiquettes to management students.

S O Junare, director of Shri Jairambhai Patel Institute of Business Management and Computer Applications at Gandhinagar And Jagdish Joshipura, director of Som-Lalit Institute of Management wanted to include subjects like retailing, online marketing and e-commerce to be included in MBA curriculum.

GTU vice-chancellor Akshai Aggarwal said that the university should a syllabus that took care of all the issues concerning industries. He also wanted students also tobe consulted while preapring the new syllabus for management courses.
