Delhi: Two women arrested for theft of Rs 88,000

The two ladies, aged 22 and 26, stole the amount after cutting the polythene bag containing the cash, police said.

They were apprehended from the spot with the stolen cash.

“These two thieves are a part of the gang that is also active in committing thefts in Delhi Metro trains and in bank queues.

“They usually pretend that they are quite poor and innocent. They wear saris with long ‘pallus’ so that they can cover themselves while carrying the stolen money,” said another officer.
