UP: Minor burnt after rape attempt

16 year old was allegedly burnt by 3 of her relatives after she resisted their attempt to rape her.

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly burnt by three of her relatives after she resisted their attempt to rape her in Fakharpur area of the district.

Subhash,Sunil and Satish assaulted the victim in Sardarpara village under Fakharpur police station of the district,SP Bahraich,Shailendra Pati Tripathi,said,adding that one of the accused has been arrested.

The girl with over 75 per cent burn injuries is battling for life in the district hospital,he said.

The incident,which took place on Monday,came to light when a case was registered by family of the victim on Thursday.
