BJP links CID FIR over report leak with Himachal ‘samosa probe’ row

The Himachal Pradesh government has become directionless and dictatorial and is now targeting the media freedom by registering an FIR in the alleged leak of the “samosa inquiry report,” BJP leader Jai Ram Thakur Saturday claimed.

The Shimla police had registered an FIR against unknown individuals for theft, forgery, public mischief, and criminal conspiracy for leaking information and documents from the CID on the complaint of SP Crime (CID) Rajesh Sharma on February 11. “This FIR is an attack on the freedom of the media,” Thakur said.

Thakur said the CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu should explain what kind of secrecy exists in investigation of samosas and how it relates to public interest.

He said state’s government resources and energy are being wasted by probing who served the samosa, who leaked the CID report, who reported it in the media, and why.
