PM Modi compared the current government to RJD's time and asserted that it was due to the efforts of Nitish Kumar that Bihar is emerging again. (PTI)Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called out the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for neglecting Bihar’s education system for decades and crippling the education system. He launched various youth-focused initiatives worth more than Rs 62,000 crore in Delhi at the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh, 2025. PM Modi announced a Bihar government special student credit card, using which students can avail interest-free loans. He also said that the Bihar government has hiked the students’ scholarship scheme from Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,600.
He said the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar is committed to student welfare and creating opportunities for the youth while announcing a series of welfare schemes for them. Comparing the current administration with the RJD regime, he asserted that Bihar’s resurgence is the result of Nitish Kumar’s efforts.
He said: “This generation may not be fully aware of how Bihar’s education system was neglected two decades ago. Schools were neither opened properly nor were admissions conducted fairly. Lakhs of students were forced to go to other cities or states for education, marking the beginning of mass migration. Reviving a tree whose roots are infested with insects is no small feat. RJD’s misgovernance had reduced Bihar’s education system to a similar condition, but fortunately, the people of Bihar chose the Nitish Kumar-led government. We have all witnessed how the NDA government has successfully put the broken system back on track.”

PM Modi further added that it was fortunate that the people of Bihar chose the Nitish Kumar-led government. “We have all witnessed how the NDA government has successfully put the broken system back on track,” he said.
Nitish Kumar has been the Chief Minister of Bihar since 2005, with a gap of around a year in 2014 when Jitan Ram Manjhi assumed the post. Prior to that, Lalu Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi held the post consecutively from 1990 -2005.
