‘Will never let hate take root,’ says BAPS after its Hindu temple in California vandalised by miscreants

In a post on X, BAPS Public Affairs account stated, “In the face of another Mandir desecration, this time in Chino Hills, CA, the Hindu community stands steadfast against hate. Together with the community in Chino Hills and Southern California, we will never let hate take root.”

Without adding further details of the incident, the BAPS Public Affair post on social media added “Our common humanity and faith will ensure that peace and compassion prevail.”

Later, an advocacy group Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) drew people’s attention towards the incidents of attack in the past on Hindu temples and demanded a thorough investigation in the desecration incidents.

“Another Hindu Temple vandalised – this time the iconic BAPS temple in Chino Hills, CA. It’s just another day in a world where media and academics will insist there is no anti-Hindu hate and that #Hinduphobia is just a construct of our imagination,” CoHNA said on X.

“Not surprising this happens as the day for a so-called ‘Khalistan referendum’ in LA draws close,” the post by CoHNA added.

Earlier, the BAPS Hindu temple in California’s Sacramento was desecrated by miscreants in September last year and the defaced temple graffiti stated “Hindus go back!”

In another incident which took place 10 days before the Sacramento desecration, another BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Melville, New York was defaced. The Consulate General of India in New York had strongly condemned the incident.
